Bra
type apparel originated in the 1400s BC during the Minoan
civilization era. |
The
word bra was derived from the word brassiere which is an article
of clothing that covers, supports and elevates the breasts.
Since the early 19th century it has replaced the corset as the
most widely accepted method of supporting a woman's breasts. |

LINGERIE
Lingerie
is a term for fashionable and possibly alluring undergarments. The term
in the French language applies to all undergarments for either gender.
In English it is applied specifically to those undergarments designed to
be visually appealing or erotic.
The
concept of lingerie as visually appealing undergarments was developed a
long time ago during the late nineteenth century. Lady Duff-Gordon of
Lucile was a pioneer in developing lingerie that freed women from more
restrictive corsets.
Through the first half of the 20th century, women wore underwear for
three primary reasons: to alter their outward shape (first with corsets
and later with girdles or bras), for hygienic reasons, or for modesty.
Before the invention of crinoline, women's underwear was often very
large and bulky. During the late 19th century, corsets became smaller,
less bulky and constricting, and were gradually supplanted by the
brassiere, first patented in the 20th century by Mary Phelps Jacob. When
the First World War broke out, women found themselves filing in men's
work roles, creating a demand for more practical undergarments.
Manufacturers began to use lighter and more breathable fabrics. As the
20th century progressed, underwear became smaller and more form fitting,
The lingerie industry expanded in the 21st century with designs that
double as outerwear. The lingerie market at the turn of the 21st century
was driven by the advent of modern technologies and fabrics that help in
designing innovative products such as laser-cut seamless bras and
moulded T-shirt bras. Designers are putting greater emphasis on
rich-looking fabrics, laces, embroideries and brighter, more daring
colours.

BRAS
& MORE

The
following are some suggestions for taking care of your bras so they last
longer:
1.
The first thing you should do is read the manufacturer labels for the
ideal type of cleaning of a particular garment. Follow the instructions
they provide.
2.
In general we recommend that you hand wash all bras in cold water with
mild soap.
3.
If hand washing is difficult for you, then you may use laundry bags to
place your intimates and do your laundry with a washer. Choose the
delicate cycle. Use cold water and mild soap.
4.We
recommend that you air dry your bras after washing
them.
Do not use the dryer to dry your bras.
5.Stack
your bras neatly in a drawer after they are dry.
6.
Have a good selection of bras. Do not keep using the same bras over and
over again. You can get better results from your bras by giving them
time to re-energize. Please note that the fibres in your bras get
stretched each and every time they are used. You have to give the fibres
enough time to reset before their next use.
7.
In general make sure you buy good quality and well made bras. In the
long-term well made bras are easier to care for and will always last
much longer.
